Annual Women's Exam

Abnormal Vaginal Bleeding

Abnormal Vaginal Bleeding

Advanced Menstrual Care Center provides annual women's health exam.  During this evaluation screening for disease and risk factors can include screening for hypertension, obesity, heart disease, cancer screenings and contraception.   Findings and recommendations are reviewed with each patient and shared with your healthcare team

Abnormal Vaginal Bleeding

Abnormal Vaginal Bleeding

Abnormal Vaginal Bleeding

Abnormal vaginal (or uterine) bleeding can be a serious warning sign of potentially serious medical problems.   A careful medical history, examination and diagnostic evaluation is important to make a proper diagnosis so the most appropriate and effective treatment can be developed in cooperation with you.  Diagnostic testing including ultrasounds, hysteroscopy and biopsy are performed  on-site at Advanced Menstrual Care Center, often on the first day you are seen.

Second Surgical Opinion

Abnormal Vaginal Bleeding

Second Surgical Opinion

In many cases, another opinion can be informative and reassuring.

Steven W. Tucker, M.D. is Medical Director of Advanced Menstrual Care Center.  His general philosophy is to begin with effective and low risk options first.  He was an early innovator, researcher and teacher of minimally invasive surgery techniques for women.  For decades, many women who have sought a second surgical opinion from him have often discovered other alternatives to their medical problems thereby avoiding the need for surgery or offering a less traumatic solution.

PCOS

Abnormal Pap Smear

Second Surgical Opinion

PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) is one of the most common endocrine disorders affecting women's health.  It is a complex disorder affecting fertility, menstrual cycles, skin and other organs. There are many disorders that imitate PCOS and a thorough evaluation is required to make the correct diagnosis and treatment plan.  It is also a lifelong disorder associated with diabetes, heart disease, diabetes and high cholesterol. Dr. Tucker is a specialist with interest, experience and commitment in the care of women with PCOS.

Abnormal Pap Smear

Abnormal Pap Smear

Abnormal Pap Smear

The abnormal Pap smear is a serious gynecologic problem that requires a careful and thorough evaluation.   Advanced Menstrual Care Center has a unique video system so that patients can observe the evaluation as it is performed.  Dr. Tucker takes this opportunity to teach each patient so she understands her problem, her care.  As a result, each woman becomes more involved in her own care.

Menstrual Pain

Abnormal Pap Smear

Abnormal Pap Smear

Severe menstrual pain can affect as many as 40% to 60% of all women, interfering with their work and their social activities.   Many women silently suffer since prescription medication often fails them.

The team at Advanced Menstrual Care Center has helped many of these women return to a more satisfying, and productive life with a focused and comprehensive medical plan that has proved effective for many women who formerly suffered for years, even decades.

Painful Sex

Chronic Pelvic Pain

Chronic Pelvic Pain

Painful sex can be particularly debilitating because it affects a woman's relationship with her partner and her self-esteem.  The diagnosis of the pain is difficult because the medical history and the physical exam provide few clues to direct treatment options.  At Advanced Menstrual Care Center, diagnostic tests important to make a proper diagnosis are performed in the office.  A particularly valuable test is the pelvic ultrasound.  This test is often performed by Dr. Tucker during the first visit, while the patient watches, thereby improving the speed of care and your understanding of it.

Chronic Pelvic Pain

Chronic Pelvic Pain

Chronic Pelvic Pain

There are many, many causes of chronic pelvic pain.   Establishing a correct diagnosis is the first step in determining the most appropriate treatment.

At Advanced Menstrual Care Center, you care is not rushed.  Your visit is not limited to just 10 minutes.

At Advanced Menstrual Care Center, we believe that taking the time to listen to your problems and how it impacts your life is the most effective way to begin helping you with the problem

Uterine Fibroids

Chronic Pelvic Pain

Uterine Fibroids

Uterine fibroids occur in up to 70% of all women.  Fortunately, most women do not have any problems with their fibroids.  These women do not need treatment, other than close observation to monitor for fibroid growth.

However, 20% of women may have problems with pelvic pain, excessive enlargement and abnormal bleeding.  With in-office ultrasound and hysteroscopy, Dr. Tucker can provide a comprehensive evaluation of fibroids and provide treatment options that best suits your needs and future plans.

Ovarian Cysts

Ovarian Cysts

Uterine Fibroids

The primary function of the ovary is to grow eggs that may be fertilized.  This process of egg growth is intimately tied to the production of the female hormones estrogen and progesterone and the menstrual cycle.

As the egg develops, it grows in a fluid-filled structure called a follicle.  In the middle of a cycle, ovulation occurs and the egg is released.

The vast majority of ovarian cysts occur as a result of the normal process of the growth and development of an egg.   These cysts do not require treatment but they can take 3 months or more to disappear.

The only way to monitor these cysts and to make certain they are not confused with tumors of the ovary, pelvic ultrasound is required.  At Advanced Menstrual Care Center, Dr. Tucker will perform your ultrasound while you watch on a TV monitor and he explains the ultrasound findings.  This unique process at Advanced Menstrual Care Center helps you to understand your problem and provides reassurance.

Endometriosis is a common problem associated with severe menstrual pain, chronic pelvic pain, painful sex and infertility.

Most cases of endometriosis can be effectively managed with medication, once a proper diagnosis has been made.
